Match type: Friendly
Date: 08/08/2007
Venue: Hockey Field
Referee: Steven Williams
Conditions: Hockey field still in need of a trim
Another decent squad selection for David Thomas despite missing Daniel Howls (Long term groin injury), Captain Jonny Smith (Carrying a knock from Monday) and Ashley Reid (Lifeguard duties). With the 6 year on going problem of no goalkeeper, Scott Gilchrist (unable to play out at present due to asthma playing up) was put in the sticks. Dai Thomas was to stick with the 4-4-2 formation that done so well against the 1st team on Monday. Returning to the heart of the midfield were Andy Simpkins and Ryan James (Keown). Under 18 Calvin was to get a run up front and Jamie Edwards was back at centre half.

Match type: Friendly
Venue: Hockey Field
Date: 07/08/2007
Referee: Christopher Parnell
Conditions: Slightly damp, long grass The 3rd teams 1st pre-season friendly match and after the 6aside, numbers were low. Andrew Whatley failed a late fitness test with a bad ankle and Botchett was working away. Reserves midfielder Scott Gilchrist was brought in for some match fitness as manager Templers started with a 3-5-2 formation. Kat returned to make his 2nd debut since retiring and Gregory Hughes returned after a lengthy injury, keeping him out for most of last season.

Friendly Match : Crusaders V Crusaders Reserves
Date: 06/08/2007
Venue: Hockey Field
Referee: Tudor Lewis
After the annual 6aside tournament, many players were injured or too shattered, resulting in both sides being short on players. The 1sts have decided to promote Glamorgan cricket star Ryan Watkins and last season Players player Nicholas Thomas from the reserves. The 1st team have an injury list of Barry Williams, Gavin Williams, Chris Osment (long term) and new signing from Cefn Forest Reserves, David Berry. Also missing, was Nelly Reardon, who doesn't look likely to get much action this season. The 1st team could also give a debut to new signing Lloyd Stone, signed from Welsh League outfit Caldicot. Managers Clive and Phil must have been excited about their 1st game.
