Conditions: Long Grass and boiling

Crusaders returned back to Fields Park for their 1st home game of the season. With Budgie suspended, Louty on holidays, and Manager David Thomas on a family outing, which included Andrew Simpkins, Ian Gilchrist had to choose the side as the pack was shuffled once again.

Treowen Reserves V Crusaders 3rds (Gwent County Reserve League)
Venue: Treowen
Conditions: Good
Attendance: Good

Crusaders opening league fixture in the new Gwent County Reserve League, was a daunting prospect away at last years champions who amassed 160 goals in the process. Despite missing Gregory Botchett, Gregory Hughes and Andrew Whatley, Crusaders still managed to have a squad of 16 to choose from. Reserve keeper Scott Gilk was in the sticks, and fringe reserve players Ashley Reid, Liam Davies and Daniel Morgan all took the field. The other reserve in action was Daniel Morris who started on the bench.

Match Type: Gwent County Division 3
Conditions: Lovely
Venue: Race, by Pontypool College

A decent attendance showed up for this mid-week fixture. Race are back down in division 3 after being relegated last season with the unique achievement of having the best goal difference in the whole of Wales, for a side that was relegated. Crusaders were looking to make amends after a disappointing week-end, just down the road at New Inn.

Conditions: Wet

Crusaders left to go to New Inn in high spirits with a few new faces to the squad. Huw Moseley (Injury) and Keown (Holiday) were the most notable absentees. Also missing was Jamie Edwards, despite telling brother-in-law David Thomas that he was available for the game and then ignoring his phone calls come crunch time.

Seniors Training for next two Wednesdays (sept 19 & 26) at Ynysddu Welfare 18.00 - 20.00.

Thereafter, every Wednesday, commencing October 3rd, 18.30 - 20.00, floodlit astroturf at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymi, Fleur-de-Lys.
